Prom 2011

Last night I attended Prom.
Chancelor arrived at our house at around 6:30. As usual, he came bearing gifts (a liter of Mountain Dew!). Since it was too early to leave, we started watching Donnie Darko. We got to the "Papa Smurf didn't create Smurfette; Gargamel did" part before departing. We chilled with some pretty cool people; some of them I knew (Sarah and Chris), and some were somewhat new (Glenn and Kalie).
It was honestly quite boring; the dance floor was packed and I'm not much of a dancer anyways, and neither is Chance.
The DJ had never heard of Rick Astley's Never Gonna Give You Up, which disappointed us greatly, but sitting at a ten-person table wasn't all that bad, I suppose. They had Sprite in glass bottles, which was pretty legit. There were also many macarons (which are exceedingly delicious by the way) and other nice treats.
My sister seemed to have a nice time dancing, which is cool. She probably danced enough for all three of us; plus it's not like anyone missed me on the dance floor.

At around midnight we left and met up with the rest of the group at IHOP. As we walked in, the lady at the front asked how many we would need a table for.
"Party of nine," Chance replied.
The woman was visibly irked and said, "You have got to be kidding me."
We shook our heads and she walked off in a huff. Around ten minutes later, the rest of the group finally came, and we were seated by a much nicer and more friendly young woman.
I, being one never to back out of a challenge, accepted Glenn's dare to eat all five of my buttermilk pancakes.
I wound up eating the equivalent of maybe three and a half pancakes, feeling rather nauseous afterwards.
I finally got home to my comfortable, warm bed at around two in the morning and promptly fell asleep.

All in all, it wasn't bad, but it wasn't necessarily great, either.
Would I do it again? Probably not.
Would I do another midnight IHOP run? Heck yeah.
